Savannah's Labor Week Proclamation Includes Recognition of Local 256

Savannah carpenters Local 256 was recognized recently as part of a Mayoral proclamation, designating September 3-10, 2020 as Labor Week in Savannah!

In a news conference held by Savannah Mayor Van R. Johnson, II, the historic and ongoing contributions that labor unions provide to support and help workers across the city was outlined and lauded. Southeastern Carpenters Local 256 was well represented by Local 256 and Southeastern Council President Meddy Settles as well as Council Political and Communications Director, Brett A. Hulme, who also is a member of Local 256.

As Mayor Johnson issued his comments, he specifically recognized and thanked the carpenters union for their work in a record-setting new arena project that the carpenters are helping to build. He then presented the official proclamation plaque to Christi Hulme, president of the Savannah Regional Central Labor Council.
