Scholarship Program Continues to Help Our Members’ Sons and Daughters

Eight sons and daughters of Southeastern carpenter members are the 2020 recipients of the Councilís scholarship program. Each will receive a $1,000 annual scholarship for four years, to help fund their education after high school. Congratulations to:

  • Kelsey Lawrence (father is Sylvester Lawrence of Local 225)
  • Naudia James (father is Franklin James of Local 318)
  • Joshua Ross (father is David Ross of Local 225)
  • Christopher Knox (father is Thomas Knox of Local 74)
  • Kaitlyn Wilson (father is David Wilson of Local 1209)
  • Destiny Bostic (father is Norman Bostic of Local 283)
  • Jaycie Carter (father is Jason Carter of Local 256)
  • Mia Abernathy, a returning recipient from last year (father is Marlon Abernathy of Local 1209)

The SECRC scholarship program started in 2004 and has awarded scholarships to 41 sons and daughters of Council members. We are proud to report that, out of the 41 recipients, 13 have completed all four years in the program, and the remaining 28 are all active in various levels of the program.

Scholarship recipients must attend an accredited College, University, or Technical School, submit an academic report at the end of each scholastic year, and maintain at least a B average to receive subsequent scholarship checks. Learn more about the program by clicking here:
